Contract - City of Fillmore - Water Supply. Mr. A. S. Halsted, General Solicitor, los Angeles, California. Dear Sir: Referring to your letter to me of January 10th on the above subject and returning one copy of the contract: After I had prepared this contract embodying all the terms suggested by Mr* Maguire the City refused to execute it unless a provision was inserted in it to the effect that the City could cancel the contract at any time the City reciuired all of its water for its own needs. I consequently changed the contract at Mr. Comstock’s suggestion as you requested in your letter of October 27, 1923, by adding to paragraph 7 the following sentence: "If, at any time during the term of this agreement, the City shall require all of its available supply of water to meet the requirements of the City and the inhabitants thereof, then the City shall be relieved of its duty to furnish water to the Railroad as provided herein.”
