Auditions have already been held in Las Vegas and many major cities of the world to assemble a cast of more than a hundred dancers, nude showgirls, musicians and specialty acts to star in the edition entitled "Pariscope." Donn Arden, in charge of all staging and direction of the Lido, along with producer Frank Sennes, spent agonizing days with Madame Bluebell, of the Paris Lido, selecting what has already been acclaimed as the most beautiful and talented group of dancers and showgirls ever for the new revue. The representatives of the world press, who attended some of the audition sessions in the Stardust's Cafe Continental, were overwhelmed by the bevy of pulchritude from which the show producers had to select. The representative of a Japanese news magazine summed up the difficulty by asking, "How could anyone ever say 'no' to any of those beautiful girls?" But "no" it was to most of the 800-plus young ladies who vied for what has been termed the most perfect job in the world for a dancer or showgirl. Once the dancers and showgirls had been selected, Arden and Sennes joined with Pierre Louis-Guerin and Rene Fraday, who conceived the idea of the Lido, for marathon meetings and think sessions in various of the world's capitals. -45-
