319 NEON SIGN — Commissioner Baskin moved that the City Manager be authorized to notify Clark County that McCarran Field on and after November 10, 1948 the City has no objection to their entering into an agree­ment with the Young Electric Sigh Company for rental of the neon sign on the front of the terminal building at the old McCarran Field. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Moore. MASONRY ARCH — Commissioner Clark moved that the request of the Board of County Commissioners to remove McCarran Field the masonry arch at the entrance to the old McCarran Field and install same at the new McCarran Field be granted, and the City Manager authorized to notify Clark County. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, , Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Moore. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE REGULATING SPECIAL POLICE OFFICERS AND PRIVATE PATROLS; Special Officers PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COMMISSIONS FOR THE SAME; PROHIBITING THE WEARING OF BADGES AND EMBLEMS EXCEPT BY DULY COMMISSIONED PEACE OFFICERS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO, was read by title to the Board and referred to a committee composed of Commissioners Clark and Whipple for report. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL TO MAKE FALSE, No. 374 - False MISLEADING OR UNFOUNDED REPORTS TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, OR TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE Reports—1st Reading CITY OF LAS VEGAS; PROVIDING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO, was reported on favorably by Commissioners Baskin and Whipple and thereafter read in full to the Board for a first time. Commissioner Whipple moved that Ordinance No. 375 be approved on its first reading. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Moore. LIQUOR APPLICATIONS At this time the following applications for liquor licenses for the fourth quarter of 1948 4th Qtr. - Change were presented to the Board for their consideration: of Owners House of Steaks Mrs. Tillie J. Cashen 1409 South 5th Retail Rest. Beverage (Formerly House of Naples, Patsy Malpede) Desert Snack Bar George B. Scully 222 North Main Retail Rest. Beverage (Formerly Desert Castle System, Harry J. Mangrum) Commissioner Baskin moved that the foregoing applications be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Moore. GAMING APPLICATIONS At this time the following applications for additional gaming were presented to the Board 4th Qtr. for their consideration: The Haks Nest Ted Patton Music Co. 206 Wilson St. 2 slots Golden Nugget R. Sells City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, that the deed, dated the 31st day of August, 1948, executed by Charles F. Sells and Ora M. Sells, husband and wife, to the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the real property described therein be, and is hereby accepted, for the purposes and intentions as therein set forth; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be attached to said deed, and that the same be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and filed in the records of this Board.
