Sharp GARBAGE RATE INCREASE A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada held this 22nd day of June, 1953 was called to order at the hour of 7:30 P.M. by His Honor Mayor C. D. Baker with the following members present: Mayor Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner C. D. Baker Wendell Bunker Rex A. Jarrett Harris P. Sharp Reed Whipple City Attorney Acting City Mgr. City Clerk Howard W. Cannon A. H. Kennedy Shirley Ballinger His Honor stated that this was the time set for the public hearing on the proposed increase Of rates in garbage fees, and asked any interested parties to speak on the matter. Various property owners entered into the discussion with members of the Board of Commissioners and Mr. C. T. Hibbs, CPA who audited the accounts of the Southern Nevada Disposal Company, Inc. Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved the proposed garbage rates as published in the newspaper be approved, effective July 1, 1953, said rates being as follows: BUSINESS, other than Hotels, Auto Courts & Trailer Courts Seven day pick-up: 1 st can Additional cans Six day pick-up: 1 st can Additional cans Twice a week pick-up $45 . 00 per quarter 1 8 . 00 per quarter $3 7 . 5 0 per quarter 15.00 per quarter $ 9 .0 0 per quarter per can 6-22-53
