GENERAL COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN MEETING - 6 NATO Banquet: Information: Mass: 30 Seconds of silence will be observed at the NATO Banquet, in memory of those who gave their their lives in the defense of their countries. Each delegate attending the Congress will be given a printed card listing church servides available in Las Vegas during their visit. The importance of this - in view of the fact that mainy people will be here two and three Sundays - was stressed by R. Whitener. Early mass will be conducted every morning during WCF at the Convention Center. TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE Frank S. Mikulich. Chairman The NEW route for the convoy of 1600 cars, busses and other vehicles to Indian Springs on Wednesday, April 15, is as follows: North or South on Highway 91 to D4C Road, west to Highland Road, north to San Francisco, west to Arville, north to Charleston Boulevard, west to Decatur and north to Highway 95. No-one enters the Range after 9:30 A.M. Convoy starts at 7:00 A.M. All cars will have numbers, and all must have identification or will be refused admittance. All VIPs will be assigned to specific cars and other transportation. Extra busses will be spotted along route to pick up passengers from disabled transportation. No transportation should leave Las Vegashalf-empty, but should stop by resort hotels to pick up delegates. Helicopters will be utilized whenever possible; however, this is not expected to make any dent in the demand for wheels. Civil Air Patrol personnel are being instructed and utilized as Volunteer Drivers for the Committee. It was determined that drivers may accept gratuities from passengers. In addition to the use during the "Big Move", 53 official World Congress of Flight cars will be available during entire week for transporation of VIPS, - 26 courtesy of General Motors Oldsmobile Division. These, incidently, have been loaned (15 of the convertibles) to the Variety International Convention, to assist them in transportation of their convention delegates, VIPs and strip hotel stars appearing at their Banquet.
