Bartlett, distin-guished educator and world traveler, was last week introduced by Horace Caterer, as speaker of the day. Dr. Bartlett, who has made six trips to Japan and spent much time in that country, gave a most interesting address about conditions in Japan since the end of World War I He describ-ed the great improvement in the rela-tions between the people of Japan and the outside world, and credited the officers and men under General MacArtimr for the better conditions. Especially, he described the gradual spread of friendly relations to the association of the American officers and men with the Japanese children. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * NEXT WEEK A joint Kiwanis - Rotary Easter program. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * AL CORRADETTI — — will be leaving next Monday for a forty day vacation to Switzerland, France and Italy. Thanks, Uilfie.) ^ \ S ^ ED CONVERSE A!- ^ ^ ^ —has been working too hard (for the Republicans or 'Y Bonanza Air); anyr/ay, his ^ Doctor has ordered him to rest for a few weeks in Mexi-co. Ed, who is your Doc? Especially, I hope every member of Las Vegas Rotary Club has read or will proceed to read, that fine article-"The City versus Boys" by Herbert Hoover, who stands today, des-pite studied "smearing" for years by salaried agents of "The New Deal", as the out-standing American. The article is the spirit of the kindly soul who wrote it and who, down through the years, has never faltered in his efforts to better the conditions cf all mankind.,.. Herbert Hoover, the busiest nan in the United States, still finds time to act as Chairman of the Board cf Boys' Clubs of Ar.icrica. He pays a tribute to Rotary when he says: "These boys' Clubs that Rotary has established / offer outlets for that explo/ sive energy in play and'.the .-'' land of make-believe.-." / ,-' FHR- 1A7TCEB R- N2 9 A7L *ORGANIZ ATI O N ^ ' ' MB-E39V6S0 " - U R N t SH IN G s!* ^R E T AI L n L E f ' T m y L i d ? ^ & POWER R-94I B-4178 BHaArRtlDetWt.
