    % pipe should extend beyond a point 24 feet from top of well, it shall be extended additional depth as agreed upon between the Engineer and the Contractor for which additional depth Engineer will issue "Order on Contractor" to cover. CASING; Casing for each water well shall extend through 20 inch conductor pipe to a minimum depth of 800 feet and any addition­al depth, not to exceed a total of 1200 feet, as directed by the Engineer. Well shall be cased with 16-inch I.D. No. 8 gauge (or 12" I.D. No. 8 gauge, if specified by Engineer) double water well casing. All casing material shall be Hard Red Steel, Kal-Well Steel or equal. Casing shall be perforated with slots 3/8" x if" for welding at location 12 inches from end of each 4-ft. joint, 5 slots around the circumference for 16" I.D. casing and 4 slots for 12" I.D, casing. In order to case off any possible water from surface drainage or upper stratas circum­ferential welding of outside joints of casing shall be performed to a depth of 200 ft. below top of well* .-,"v STARTING SHOE; Contractor shall furnish; 1 h 16" x 16" x 1" bit steel shoe, 16 * -r 16" No. 8 gauge 3 ply starter, 8 1 - 16" No. 8 gauge 2 ply starter. Similar material for 12" shoe and starter in event necessary t'o reduce to 12" casing. PERFORATIONS IN WATER BEARING STRATA; Casing shall be perforated after installation at depth agreed upon by the Engineer and the Contractor. Perforations shall be of the size and type and number as agreed upon by the Engineer and the Contractor. After wells have been perforated, they shall be thoroughly sand pumped by the Contractor. DEVEDOPING, TESTING AND CLEANING WELLS; Upon completion of sand pumping, the Contractor shall install a turbine pump having a minimum capacity of 4,000 GPM and 200 feet total lift. Contractor shall pump and surge each well as Instructed by the Engineer, for a minimum period of 24 hours, or as much longer time as directed by the Engineer, until clean of sand, keeping a record of water pumped and drawdown. „At the time of final flow test, tbe wells shall not con­tain sand, gravel or other materials at locations where any of the perforations will be covered. After completion of all developing and testing, the Contractor shall remove the test pump and then sand pump the wells, - 4 -
