51 West 52 Street York, New York 10019 (212) 765-4321 Dear Sir: Epic Records will be returning to Las Vegas next week to hold its 1968 National Sales Convention at the Sands Hotel from June 17 to 19; Epic's last Convention in 1966 was also held at the Sands. Leading executives from Epic Records and CBS Records will be in attendance, along with distributors from all over the country. The Convention will begin with registration on Monday, June 17 followed by an opening cocktail party that evening. On Tuesday and Wednesday (June 18 and 19) there will be a series of business meetings during which Epic's strong line of new product will be introduced, the kick off for the peak summer sales season. The Convention will close with a Banquet and Gala Show on Wednesday evening, June 19. The Gala Show on Wednesday evening will feature an array of top Epic recording artists, including Sly and The Family Stone, an outstanding contemporary popular group; West, a new group from the San Francisco Bay area; famed vocalist Maxine Brown; popular British vocalist Georgie Fame; top Country vocalist David Houston; pop-Country vocalist Charlie Rich and top female Country vocalist Tammy Wynette. Both Tammy Wynette and David Houston were recipients of Grammy Awards, the music industry's Academy Awards.
