QUITCLAIM DEED The Commission considered Quitclaim Deed to the City of Las Vegas from Harold J. and Harold J. & Geraldine Geraldine M. Stocker for Concordia Place — being a cul-de-sac approximately 200' in length M. Stocker running northerly off Oakey Blvd. between 15th and 17th Streets. Resolution of Acceptance Adopted Commissioner Whipple moved that the following Resolution of Acceptance be adopted and order made: RESOLUTION OF ACCEPTANCE OF QUITCLAIM DEED On motion of Commissioner Reed Whipple, duly seconded by Commissioner Harris P. Sharp, and carried unanimously, the following Resolution is adopted, and order made: BE IT RESOLVED, this 15th day of April, 1959, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, that the deed, dated the 17th day of March, 1959, executed by Harold J. Stocker and Geraldine M. Stocker, husband and wife, to the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the real property described therein be, and is hereby accepted, for the purposes of street; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be attached to said deed, and that the same be recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and this resolution be filed in the records of this Board. STATE OF NEVADA ) ) ss. COUNTY OF CLARK ) I, R. F. Boos, Acting City Clerk, of the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, hereby certify the foregoing to be a full, true and correct copy of the Resolution accepting the deed attached hereto duly adopted at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on the 15th day of April, 1959. CHARLESTON HEIGHTS TRACT The Commission considered the acceptance of Final Plat for Charleston Heights #7. The Engineering Department had checked final designs and recommence approval of this final plat. Subdivision Agreement has been signed and bond has been posted by the subdivider, Acceptance of Final Plat Charleston Heights, Inc. Approved Commissioner Sharp moved that the acceptance of final plat for Charleston Heights Tract #7 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. LIONS PARK WATER METER City Manager Kennedy advised the Board that in lieu of the 6" Water Meter at Lions Park Purchase Requisition at a cost of $2,500 as presented to the Commission at the regular meeting held April 1, 1959, the Engineering Department requests authorization for purchase of 2 - 2" Meters Approved at a cost of $300 each; total $600, which will suffice for present needs. Mr. Kennedy further advised that the City Attorney's opinion was that the City does have to pay for whatever meters are installed by the water company. Commissioner Whipple moved that purchase requisition be approved for 2 - 2" Meters at a cost of $300 each; total $600 to be installed at Lions Park. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. SPANISH WAR VETERANS City Manager Kennedy presented a request from the Spanish War Veterans, Pat McCarran Pat McCarran Auxiliary Auxiliary #5; that the Board of City Commissioners accept their "Motto on Americanism" #5 to be displayed in the Council Chambers. Motto on Americanism Commissioner Sharp moved that the Spanish War Veterans, Pat McCarran Auxiliary #5, "Motto Accepted on Americanism" be accepted and displayed in the Council Chambers. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. NOTICE OF CLAIM The Commission considered the claim of Orpha Bowman, Steve A. Bowman and Alveta McBride Orpha Bowman, Steve for the alleged wrongful death of Steve Eligie Bowman through the wrongful act or neglect A Bowman & Alveta of the City of Las Vegas and its officers and agents. It was recommended that this claim McBride be denied. Denied Commissioner Whipple moved that the claim of Orpha Bowman, Steve A. Bowman and Alveta McBride for the alleged wrongful death of Steve Eligie Bowman through the wrongful act or neglect of the City of Las Vegas and its officers, and agents be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. 4-15-59
