of October, 1957, that the Board does hereby express its gratitude to and publicly commends Captain Harry Leonard, Commander, his staff officers, and the personnel of the Las Vegas Police Department Reserve Unit for their willing and devoted service to the City of Las Vegas; for their fine records in performing their police functions; for their loyalty and devotion to duty; and for their confidence and pride in their unit, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be entered upon the official records of the City of Las Vegas, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a duly certified copy of this resolution be forthwith transmitted to the Las Vegas Police Department Reserve Unit. DATED: October 2, 1957. Commissioner Bunker moved the foregoing resolution be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the City Manager be authorized to attend the City Manager Convention in Washington, D. C. October 20th through 26th, 1957, with expenses of $500.00 allowed. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved that the Board of Commissioners go on record as being in favor of the extension of service of Bonanza Airlines permitting stops at St. George and Kanab, Utah. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time Mayor Baker left the meeting. Mr. Lou Maynard appeared before the Commission at this time speaking on behalf of the property owners in the Biltmore Addition #1 and #2 and requested the installation of sidewalks on North 2nd Street from Bonanza to Mesquite. Commissioner Bunker moved this matter be referred to the City Manager for recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO REAPL ORDINANCE NO. 731; REGULATING AND CONTROLLING THE POSTING OF RATES OF HOTELS, INNS, MOTELS, MOTOR COURTS AND BOARDING AND LODGING HOUSES WITHIN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; TO REGULATE AND CONTROL THE POSTING AND MAINTAINING OF OUTSIDE ADVERTISING SIGNS OF MOTELS, MOTOR COURTS, HOTELS, AND LIKE ESTABLISHMENTS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO, was read by title and referred to Commissioner Sharp for recommendation. There being no further business to come before the meeting, at the hour of 10:00 P.M. Commissioner Sharp moved this meeting adjourn. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker.
