Each of the athletes to be honored will be introduced in this manner, except for the very special "Athlete of. the Year" award, (any film would necessarily be shown after the "Athlete of the Year" has been announced in order to maintain the suspense of this award). The "Athlete of the Year" award is given to a currently active athlete, whose performance over the past year is worthy of this special recognition. It is the premier and surprise award of the evening. All effort will be made to conceal his identity until the announcement before the television cameras. We want this award to be a surprise to the audience as well as to the winner. Between the formal award presentations, there will be a film and comedic commentary of the other bloopers made in the world of sports ... past and present. A possible source for these visual blunders is N.F.L. Films. Action, in other words, will be continuous with no possibility of the show ever becoming slow or ponderous.
