AIR MAIL November 14, I960 Mr. Al Freeman Sands Hotel Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Al: According to the NEW YORK TIMES this morning, the Gold Cup Race in Las Vegas, following which you were to cover the presentation of the Martini & Rossi trophy to the winner, was cancelled yesterday due to unusually rough water and bad weather. I am sure that you had spent some time in preparation for this assignment. In view of this, would you let us know how much time you put in on it prior to the cancellation of the race. I know that we can arrive at a fair reimbursement for this time. Itfs too bad the assignment didnft work out as originally set up, but it was just one of those unfortunate occurrences.
