I agree.MEMORANDUM ^American Weekiy TO: FROM: , ?╓¬ ?╟? ?╜ September 15* Dear Al, I am terribly sorry to report that Ernie Heyn and my New York office went thumbs down on the swell story we had planned for Jack* I 8m heart-broken* I did not hear about this until yesterday ?╟÷ seems the delay was caused by vacations in the New York office * Unfortunately I have to get their okay on all stories I do on the West Coast* I have been turned down on all personality stories that tie up with Las Vegas ?╟÷ why? I know not* So now I am going to attack it from a different angle. Just had a talk with Dave Brandman on the Examiner and he gave me two n cover-all" ideas to suggest to New York* Hope I have better luck with them, and you can be sure that Jack and the Sands will be well taken care of* Enjoyed seeing you and having dinner at the Sands with Perry Leiber and the Levitts a couple of weekends back* Bob Levitt is the publisher of American Weekly as you know* He and his wife had a wonderful time and are planning to spend another weekend there when they come out for the next Hearst clambake the latter part of November* Best widies, P.S* Just read the New York reviews* Our Miss Bankhead seems to be doing all right in her new play*
