    SECTION 8. Special police officer's commissions issued under this ordinance shall remain effective until the expiration of one year after the date of issuance unless sooner revoked, and shall he renewed upon ap­plication to the Chief of Police and payment to the City of Las Vegas a fee of 50¢ for such renewal. SECTION 9. Subparagraph (g), Section 6, Chapter 31, Code of Las Vegas, Nevada, 1949, as amended by Ordin­ance No. 590, is hereby amended to read as follows: (g) COST OF INVESTIGATION OF APPLICANT. The Chief of Police shall also make a charge of fifteen dollars to cover the costs of investigation of any applicant for a commission as a special police officer, or to cover the costs of an investigation of an application for a permit to operate a business of private patrol. SECTION 10. Subparagraph (f), Section 10, Chapter 31, Code of Las Vegas, Nevada, 1949, is hereby amended to read as follows: (No special police officer shall:) (f) Interfere with or attempt to influence, the lawful business of any person, nor shall any spec­ial police officer to whom a commission has been granted use his credentials an/or badge or otherwise rep­resent his authority to be for the performance of duties other than those which appear in his application as provided by Section 2 of this ordinance, provided, any special police officer to whom a commission has been granted who shall either by express fraudulent representations or by omitting a duty to correct a false misleading impression of his authority shall obtain money, property, position of trust, or other thing of value shall upon conviction be punished by a fine not to exceed five hundred ($500.00) dollars or imprisonment in the city jail for not more than six (6) months or by a combination of both. SECTION 11. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed. SECTION 12. Any violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall constitute a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred ($500.00) dollars, or by imprisonment in the City Jail for not more than six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 13. If any part, provision or section of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance shall be held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of this ordi­nance of the application of such part, provision or section thereof to any other person or circumstances shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 14. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 15. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its publication as in the next section provided,and final passage. SECTION 16. The City Clerk and the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its first reading and adoption, in the Las Vegas Review Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas.
