My dear Mr. Clark, - Replying to your letter of September 11th, f ile No. 1199, in reference to the renting of company houses. I Leg to herewith enclose you copy of my letter to Mr. Bettis under date of August 7th, wherein you will see that, as you advised, 1 have Been keeping in touch with Mr. Bettis in connection with this matter, as I do with all matters concerning the Las Vegas Land & Water Compary. are all employes of the S.P.L. A.& S.L.R.R. Company, the greater number of them being engineers, firemen and trainmen. In looking over the list, I find I have but two inquiries that are not in the above class. applications, and the ones that I already have are in no way binding to the company. I simply wrote their names down as inquiry was made of me concerning the renting of the houses.
