488 POLICE DEPARTMENT Commissioner Peccole moved that the request of Robert F. Marburg, Chief of Police for Expenses for First the sum of $35.00 traveling expenses for Lt. E. A. Dvis to attend a First Aid and Ac- Aid School cident Prevention School at Asilomar, Pacific Grove, California from October 10 to October 20, 1949, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. KHOURY'S CLUB SAVOY Commissioner Bunker moved that the investigation of the Police Department on Khoury's Club Savoy relative to the controversy over a race bet at this club be ordered filed. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time Commissioner Bunker moved this meeting recess until October 11, 1949 at the hour of 10 A.M. EMERGENCY LOAN - Commissioner Moore moved that the First National Bank of Nevada having made arrangements First Nat'l Bank with the Public Employees Retirement Board to take over half of the Emergency Loan to the City, said bid having been awarded on October 3, 1949, the proposal of the First National Bank of Nevada to loan the City of Las Vegas $60,000 at 3% interest be accepted the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign the necessary promissory note to obtain this money. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and Hie Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Whipple.
