KING LOUIE'S CHAMBERS NIGHT King Louie is stretched out in bed; his body is deathly still* Samson, Dancelot, Roily, and Winston stand at the footboard of the bed, their faces taut with anxiety. A beat, then Morgan enters. SAMSON Did you summon the Royal Physician? MORGAN He's on his way. Morgan joins the others at the bed. 201 ANOTHER ANGLE The door opens and the ROYAL PHYSICIAN enters, carrying his medical bag. The ANGLE is such that we see only his back as he moves to the bed and opening his bag, examines the King. Finally, he turns to face CAMERA; it is BEN CASEY dressed in the costume of the period but his tunic is unbuttoned at the neck revealing a very virile chest of hair. ROYAL PHYSICIAN The Royal Cat's gone. SAMSON We know that, but how is he? ROYAL PHYSICIAN He's about to split the scene for good. ROLLY Methinks we should call in another doctor. What of that one across ?╟≤ the channe1, Sir Kild are ? ROYAL PHYSICIAN (a la Jack Benny) Weill The Royal Physician pivots around and storms out, insulted. 202 ANOTHER ANGLE - SAMSON AND THE KNIGHTS WINSTON 0 woe, o woe, what are we going to do? Samson automatically brings up his horn and starts blow- ing a slow, sad bluesy number but the King does not stir. DISSOLVE:
