l a - 2 We contend 'that said 696 houses and the other hous­ing facilities now in the course of completion in Las Yegas, are ample to meet the present and future needs for housing facilities in Las Yegas, and in this connection we represents Ihe demand for housing in Las Yegas has been princi­pally caused by the activities at Basic and at the Las Yegas Gunnery School, We attach hereto a chart furnished by MeWeil Construction Company, showing the actual number of that Company* s employees between September, 1941 and March 23s 1943, and the number of employees that Company anticipates it will have em­ployed from said last mentioned date until its construction con­tract is completed. This shows an anticipated decline of approxi­mately 1000 employees per month from March 23 until July 27th» We further attach copies of letters from Basie Magnesium, Inc., dated February 20, 1943, and March 10, 1943, respectively, showing the number of its employees on those dates; the approxi­mate number of permanent employees after completion of plant; where their said employees live; the housing facilities now available; and the projected housing developments at Basic, On or about May 1, 1942, the Federal Government completed 125 houses at Las Yegas, for the married Mon-Commissioned Officers at the Gunnery School, and now has under construction a project for 16S additional housing units in Las Yegas, for married non­commissioned Officers, When said project is completed, the houses in Las Yegas now occupied by Mon-Commissioned Officers will be available for any type of tenants, Until said 696 houses and the other housing facilities now in the course of completion are substantially occupied, Las Yegas Land and Water Company should not be ealledupon to sake further extensions except under the provisions of its Bile 9A, WAiffiR S.BBaCeMm Yice President and Agent.
