For the sixth consecutive year, the Sportsmen's Club for the City of Hope is presenting a sports and entertainment colossal. This year, comedy, glamour, exciting color film and the top personalities from Hollywood and the greatest names in sports from around the world will comprise this "very special show." The M.C. on this occasion should be one prominent in the sports or entertainment field with a knack for introduction, presentation, and general jive that is unequaled. On the stage that evening we will have not one but four Emcees, insuring the widest possible range of appeal. Who comes to mind? The first fifteen minute segment perhaps Bob Hope or Flip Wilson; the next, Howard Cosell, then a Lucille Ball or Carol Burnett and to round out this "fiercesome foursome" how about Joe Namath, Dizzy Dean or Joe Garagiola. There will also be a full team of guest celebrities to present the awards to these individual stars of the sports world. The list of City of Hope celebrity supporters is long and impressive. A guaranteed Super Bowl event for the sponsors with a hunger for Nielsen points. To add to the impressiveness of the ceremony, there will be humor, frequently satirical, often gentle; and drama, which can only come from great people extending themselves to combat an equally great opponent. Here's how we plan to do it. 1. The guest celebrity, who will be introduced by the M.C., will talk about the athlete who is to receive the first award, but he will not mention the recipient's name until the award is actually presented. During the celebrity's speech, we will show behind him, on a huge screen located upstage in back of the podium, film of the athlete engaged in the glorious exercise of his talent?╟÷ but heavily accenting the mistakes,
