Being bom with a slight malformation in his feet turned out to be a plus in his life, when at eighteen, his doctor told him that studying dance might help strengthen his feet. With only three months of lessons, Jack-son was dancing in Las Vegas and in the movie, "Words of Music," Jerry Jackson came from a small town in Oklahoma to Las Vegas, where tie's won several awards. while at foe same time attending UCLA. After graduating with a masters in art and a minor in music, Jackson pursued many different avenues. He was a regular on Danny Kaye?╟╓s CBS television series each week for two years while at foe same time working as a professional fashion photographer. In 1966, Fred Astaire?╟╓s choreographer, Hermes Pan, took Jack-son to Rome to perform on Rai Televisions?╟╓ "Studio Uno." Barry Chase, Astaire?╟╓s dancing partner, recognized Jerry?╟╓s ability and asked him to choreograph her appearances on The Carol Burnett Show and The Hollywood Palace. Jackson has since directed and choreographed such stars as Juliet Prowse, Abbe Lane, and Goldie Hawn. Among his many television credits he has choreographed CBS?╟╓s top variety show, "Tony Orlando & Dawn." In foe field of spectaculars, Jerry has choreographed foe present " Folies Bergere," in Puerto Rico, and foe current "Folies" in Las Vegas which he also wrote and directed.
