I agree.July 30, 1365 Dear Mr, throwers thank you for your letter of July 27th indicating the interest of you and your country club in the game of gin runny. Although the situation which you have outlined would seldom occur, 1 hope the following observations might be of some use to you. It is our opinion that there would be little point in player A holding his cards after he had reached tin point of gin because there would simply be nothing to gain. In the event he goes down with gin, he gets a bonus of 25 points. By the same token, should In undercut tin player, he would only receive tin 25 point base because player B also has a gin combination. for this reason it is our belief that player B would simply be awarded 25 points for a simple gin* 1 might point out it is highly unlikely that someone would hold a gin hand, hand after hand, knowing his opponent is getting closer to gin. It might also be pointed out that player A may have failed to recognise that he had a gin combination* Although the gin rummy Flayer's Guide does not delve into some of the more complicated possibilities, we still be* lieve it contains good guidelines. 1 might add that Alfred Sheinwold, noted authority on gin, bridge, and other card games, coopiled this book and we have found it has saved us considerable difficulty along these lines.
