Freeman company PUBLIC RELATIONS March 17, 1955 Mr* Lloyd Shearer 127 No* Hamilton Drive Beverly Hills, California Dear Lloyd: Thank you for bearing with me on the delay in getting my notes on Entratter and the Sands talent to you* Jack's answer to the free-for-all competition that has sprung up in Las Vegas over getting stars for the hotel shows here started as soon as he came out here in 1952 to start the Sands* At that time he foresaw the tremendous competition that would eventually occur between the hotels, and he had the conviction of his own mind to go ahead and gamble on signing his top stars for long term periods, because he believe so thoroughly in the future of this resort as the entertainment capital of the world* I believe the attached outline of Jack * s record, especially the part dealing with his relationship with top stars such as Martin & Lewis, will explain foifc1 and why some of the biggest names in show business would sign such contracts with Entratter for his Sands shows* As it now stands, Jack has the follow- ing talent lined up for the Sands: Martin & Lewis, signed for 6 weeks each year for 1955, 1956, 1957 and 1956; Nat King Cole, signed for 6 weeks each year of 1955, 1956, 1957 and 1956; Lena Home, signed for 6 weeks each year of 1955, 195&, 1957 and 1956; Louis Armstrong, signed for 3 weeks each year of 1955, 195b, 1957 and 1956; BEVERLY HILLS, CAL. ?╟≤ 449 SOUTH BEVERLY DRIVE ?╟≤ CRESTVIEW 6-4326
