RESOLUTION OF ACCEPTANCE OF QUITCLAIM DEED On motion of Commissioner Reed Whipple, duly seconded by Commis­sioner Wendell Bunker, and carried unanimously, the following Resolution is adopted, and order made: BE IT RESOLVED, this 20 day of November, 1957; by the Board of Commis­sioners of the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, that the deed, dated the 13 day of November, 1957; executed by Pete Green and Norma Green to the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the real property described therein be, and is hereby accepted, for the purposes of street; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be attached to said deed, and that the same be recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and this resolution be filed in the records of this Board. ACQUIRE PARK PROPERTY City Manager Kennedy presented the recommendation from the Youth Advisory j Council that the City acquire property at Ashby and Cashman Drive from the Clark County School District to be used for recreational purposes. Mr. Kennedy stated that the City has contacted Mr. R. Guild Gray of the School District concerning the piece of property on Ashby. It has been agreed the City will retain title of this property as there is additional properties that the School will want for a Junior High School in the area of Stewart and 28th, and any other small pieces that they have that may be used for neighborhood playgrounds will be worked out in the trade and purchase of this property from the City. CHARITABLE SOLICITATION Commissioner Bunker moved the following applications for Charitable PERMITS Solicitations Permits, as recommended by the Solicitations Review Board, be approved and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the permits: CHRISTIAN WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP MAYFAIR SCHOOL P.T.A. UPTOWN KIWANIS CLUB MESQUITE CLUB SALVATION ARMY EVENING OPTIMIST CLUB VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. GAMING APPLICATIONS Commissioner Sharp moved the application of Edward Levinson for an additional Additional gaming license at the Fremont Hotel, 201 Fremont for 1 Poker Game be approved ^ and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the license. Commissioner Bunker moved the following applications for additional gaming license be approved and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the licenses: TATUM'S BARBEQUE Buckley & Bartlett 1301 North E 1 slot LOG CABIN BAR Buckley & Bartlett 122 North 1st 1 slot GAMING & LIQUOR The Commission considered the application of the Markay Corporation for a LICENSES gaming license at the El Morocco Club, 1332 North E. Street. City Manager El Morocco Kennedy advised the Board that all members of this corporation except Orlando Graditi have been cleared by the Police Department, and Mr. Graditi is presently in the hospital. Mr. Kennedy stated that William Gallagher of the Nevada Tax Commission will furnish the City with their file on Mr. Graditi. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of the Markay Corporation for a gaming license for 22 slots, 2 Craps, 2 "21", 1 Roulette, 1 Race Horse Keno and 4 Poker at the El Morocco Club, 1332 North E Street be approved subject to clearance of Orlando Graditi, and in the event he is not approved his name be stricken from the license, and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the licenses. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Oscar Crozier and Ruben Bullock, Jr. for a tavern liquor license at the El Morocco Club, 1332 North E Street be approved, and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the license. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. PAYROLL WARRANTS Commissioner Sharp moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 15470 through 16011 in the net amount of $75,525.11 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. SERVICE & MATERIAL Commissioner Whipple moved that Service and Material. Warrants Nos. 14067 WARRANTS through 14226 in the total amount of $116,281.23 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissionersi Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. 11-20-57
