Since receiving your letter, we have received a copy of Attorney S. C. Renwlek*s letter April 27th, file 176, to you, referring to your file A-155, which we understand deals with a specific instance in which the shipper*s instructions on the hill of lading to weigh the car and contents was not complied with, and we will of course he governed hy his advice. However, as to the question of whether or not the shipper should he permitted to show on the hill of lading a notation instructing you to weigh ears either heavy O * "heavy and light and furnish them with weight certificates, it seems to us that this is tantamount to saying,- furnish me the gross, tare and net weights and all changes made therein, for the shipment covered hy this hill of lading, which is substantially the language of Rule 6, Section 1 of Pacific freight Tariff Bureau Weighing Circular 10 X, I.C.C. Mo. 1230. Rule 9 of this Circular provides for charges per car for weighing ears either empty or loaded upon request of a shipper or consignee, under the conditions named therein.
