Letter from Mary Etta Syphus, Panaca, Nevada to John M. Bunker, El Dorado Canyon, Nevada dated January 13, 1391. (4 pp.)

Envelope fragment postmarked Panaca, Nev., Jan. 19, 1891 addressed to Mr. John M. Bunker,

    El Dorado Canyon,

    Lincoln Co., Nev.

    Panaca, Nev.,

    Jan. 13, 1391

    Mr. John M. Bunker,

    El Dorado Canyon

    Nev.

    Dear Erlend:- Your very wel-

    come letter was duely received

and it is with pleasure that

I write in reply to the same.

I was sorry to hear that you

had such a dull time and

    the mumps into the bargain

    but I can sympathize with

you for I have had that

    complaint myself.

Ma has been quite sick for

several days but is much better

    today. Sam and little Harry

have not been well for a week.

They have bad colds and con-

    fever.

siderable leaver. The rest of us

are well at present and I hope

    this will find you enjoying.

    good health.

    I have been to sabbath-school

today and aught to went to

    church but the wind was

blowing and I was to lazy

to venture out, but am going

to conjoint to night. I am

just going to tell you every little

simple thing I can think of

so you must make up your

    mind for it.

Last Thursday night I was out

    to a candy-pulling and on

Friday night we had a social

    p© hop in the school-house.

Of course we all had a lovely

time. A buggy load of the

    young folks have just returned

    from Clover Valley where they

went to attend a party. Some

of the people here, namely: Wads-

    worth’s, Lee’s, Edwardes’s and

    Syphus’s, are constructing a

on reservoir ©f the west side of town.

    Prom twelve to fourteen teams

have been working for two weeks, and it will take about

a month yet to complete it.

I am going to work in ernest

    to-morrow for I have about

    three weeks work, at dress-mak-

ing, that must be done before

    I can do anything else.

I do not have very much spare

    time now Clara is attending

school. She is sitting with me

    now writing a composition

    I suppose you know what

a task that is. I will have

to conclude for it is now

    supper time. Please write when

ever you can. I will always

he glad to hear from you.

    With kind regards I remain

truly your friend M. E. Syphus.
