199 CITY OF LAS VEGAS, STATE OF NEVADA; FIXING THE RATES OF LICENSE TAX UPON THE SAME AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF SAID LICENSE TAX, AND A PUNISHMENT FOR CARRYING ON OR CONDUCTING ANY SUCH BUSINESS WITHOUT A LICENSE, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBERED 1, 2, 4, 13, 14, 35, 48, 62, 74, 75, 81, 95, 102, 105, 108, 112, 117, 145, 184, 192 AND 243," was read to the Board by Title and referred to Com­missioners Clark and Baskin for report at the next regular meeting. NOTICE OF HEARING Commissioner Whipple moved that the City Clerk be directed to publish AMENDMENT TO MASTER the following notice for one publication in the Las Vegas Evening FLAN Review Journal, setting 7:30 p.m. February 4th, 1948 as the time for hearing on amendments to the Master Plan of the City of Las Vegas. Motion seconded by Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING UPON PURPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE MASTER PLAN OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That the Planning Commission of the City of Las Vegas has certified to the Board of Commissioners of said City an attested copy of amendments, extensions of, and additions to the Master Plan of said City adopted gy said Planning Commission, and that on the 4th day of February, 1948, at the hour of 7:30 P.M., of said day, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, will meet in the Commissioners' Room at the City Hall in the War Memorial Building, at Stewart Avenue and Fifth Street, in said City, and hold a public hearing upon the proposed amendments, extentions, of, and additions to the Master Plan aforesaid before adopting the same, and all persons interested will be given an opportunity to be heard thereon at said time and place. Date: January 22, 1948. LAND USE ZONE Commissioner Whipple moved that the motion heretofore made on January EXCEPTION CASE #34 7th, relative to zone exception case #34 be rescinded and the Board DR. ALFRED BERNKRANT hereby approves the recommendation of the Joint-Planning Commission heretofore submitted December 1, 1947. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. Bid #48.2 & 48.3 Commissioner Moore moved that bids #48.2 and 48.3 be referred to the City Manager and that he be authorized to approve and award the bids to the lowest and best bidders. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. At this time C. Norman Cornwall, City Attorney, appeared at the meeting, having been in District Court on City business and unable to attend until this time. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 1602 (f) CHAPTER No. 347 16 OF THE BUILDING CODE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 303 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, ENLARGEMENT, ALTERATION, REPAIR, MOVING, REMOVAL, CONVERSION, DEMOLITION, OCCUPANCY, EQUIPMENT, USE, HEIGHT, AREA AND MAINTENANCE OF BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFOR; DECLARING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE DISTRICTS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBERS 130, 166, 188, 284, 285 AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH," was read by title to the Board and referred to Commissioner Clark and Whipple for recommendation at the next regular meeting. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, Commissioner Whipple moved that this meeting recess until 7:30 P.M. Tuesday, January 27, 1948. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Las Vegas, Nevada January 27, 1948 At a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held this 27th day of January, 1948. Meeting called to order by His Honor Mayor E. W. Cragin at the hour of 7:30 P.M., with the following members present: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple, City Manager J. M. Murphy and City Clerk Helen Scott Reed. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. Also present: Chief of Police Robert F. Malburg. M. E. Leavitt, County Commissioner, C. C. McDaniels, Mayor North Las Vegas; Mrs. Bennett, Chairman of the Humane Society. Many other interested persons were present at this meeting which was called for the purpose of discussing the advisability
