REPORT OF THE CURATOR OF ARCHAEOLOGY FOR TIE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, 1963 The early part of November was spent on a trip to return to Lehman Caves National Monument to rephotograph some of the excavations due to loss of film by the Kodak Company, and check on some details of the strata. Subsequently, a trip was made to Salt Lake City to check the University of Utah * s collections from the Lehman Caves area (especially the Garrison Site) and check the basketry from Danger Cave, the latter material especially for comparisons wit|i the Falcon Hill perishable © I have been analysing. The inspection of the Danger Cave artifacts revealed a aisanalysis on the part of the person who wrote up this aspect of the Danger Cave report, This information will be useful and significant in deriving relationships when the final Falcon Hill report is written. Analysis was finished on the matting and basketry in the Nevada State Park Commission collections. The museum’s collection of Washo basketry was analysed and photographed. Work continued on the analysis of Falcon Hill cordage. Photography for the Lehman Cave report was done. The usual correspondence was dealt with. One morning was spent with Dr. Earl Swanson and Mr. Robert Butler ofrphe Idaho State University Museum showing them our projectfTpoint collections which they were interested in seeing for comparative purposes. Toward the end of this month, the curator of archaeology represented the museum at the annual meeting of the American Anthropological Association (the national organization of anthropologists) in San Francisco.
