Then, she holds her hand up for silence, gestures the conductor and begins to sing again: a plaintive, haunting blues. KELLY AND SCOTT 35 Scott sits with his chin cupped in his hands, savoring the girl and her song. Kelly leans over, plucks at his sleeve. Whispers: KELLY Scotty ... SCOTT (doesn* t lo'Qk at him) I'm in conference, man. Watch it. Or I'll have you thrown out. KELLY Send a note back to her. Tell her you're an old friend. Tell her you want to see her.
