Las Vegas | ~| May 21, 1952 W 23-1- B Mr*. Wm. Reinhardt - Los Angeles For the past several years., it has been our practice to arrange with City Authorities to assign two police officers to enforce city ordinance prohibiting water wastage during the summer months. The cost of these two officers has been $550 per month for which the Water Company has accepted bill from the City. During the past three weeks, we have had considerable warm weather, the temperature going as high as 90°. As a result, our water consumption has steadily increased. Several new homes have been completed and occupied since last summer, and it appears reasonable to anticipate that our consumption this year will substantially exceed our peak period of last year, and that every effort must be made to conserve water. I recommend authority to arrange with the city to furnish two officers,at a cost of $550 per month, for the period June 1 to September 15, or a total cost of $1 925* ¥. H. Johnson
