    572 NOW, THEREFORE, be IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 7th day of February, 1951, that the Assessment Roll heretofore prepared be and the same is hereby annulled BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Assessor, the Ex-officio City Assessor be and he is hereby directed to prepare a new assessment roll in the amount of $248,105.00. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. —-----0O0.... RESOLUTION 217 Commissioner Whipple introduced and moved the adoption of the following resolution! WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners did on the 22nd day of November, 1950 pass Ordinance No. 440 authorizing the Ex-officio City Assessor of the City of Las Vegas to prepare an Assessment Roll on Street Improvement Assessment District No. 100-2, and WHEREAS, on the 24th day of November, 1950, the Ex-officio City Assessor did certify and report to the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas an Assessment Roll for the aforementioned district, and whereas, it has been determined said Assessment Roll as certified and reported by the Ex-officio City Assessor is not in sufficient amount to make the improvements in said district, and WHEREAS, by resolution passed and adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the 7th day of February, 1951, said Assessment Roll was annulled and the Ex-officio City Assessor directed to prepare a new Assessment Roll in an amount sufficient to cover the actual cost, and WHEREAS, said new Assessment Roll has been filed in the office of the City Clerk, and numbered, and whereas, the Board of Commissioners has determined a public hearing should be had on the 28th day of February, 1951. NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners at a recessed regular meeting thereof held on the 9th day of February, 1951, that a public hearing on the aforemen­tioned new Assessment Roll be had on Wednesday, the 28th day of February, 1951 at 3:30 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers at the City Hall, at which tine the said Board of Commissioners and Ex-officio City Assessor will meet to hear and consider objections to said special assess­ment roll and to review said assessment. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to publish notice of the aforementioned hearing in the Las Vegas Review Journal, a newspaper in the City of Las Vegas, for at least two weeks, being fourteen insertions. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote! Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. -oOc.—- RESOLUTION 218 Commissioner Moore moved the following resolution be adopted! WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of City Commissioners of Las Vegas, Nevada, deem it advisable that certain changes be made in the Las Vegas City Charter, and WHEREAS, it is believed that the proposed changes of said City Charter are for the best interests of the majority of the inhabitants of said City, and WHEREAS, the proposed Amendment to Section 1, Chapter l, as amended by Chapter 132, Statutes of Nevada 1949, is deemed necessary and advisable in that the City of Las Vegas is an expanding and growing City and has the need for an extension of its City limits to include property not now within the limits of said City, and WHEREAS, the said City is in a position to furnish facilities to said proposed area including fire protection, police protection, City sewer and garbage service, and WHEREAS, the proposed Amendment to Chapter 1, Section 2, as amended by Chapter 132, Statutes of Nevada 1949, would provide a more expeditious method of annexing lands to the City of Las Vegas if and when the necessity arises, and WHEREAS, it is deemed to be for the best interests of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, that an Amendment be made to the present Civil Service Act providing that all members of the City of Las Vegas, except department heads, the City Manager and duly elected officials, shall be covered by said Act, and WHEREAS, said proposed Amendments to the Civil Service Act have met the approval of the present Civil Service Board, and WHEREAS, certain Amendments have been proposed to expedite the creation and accomplish­ment of Special Assessment Districts within the City of Las Vegas, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and the City Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas in a regular session, that the Legislature and Senate of the State of Nevada, by and through the Clark County Delegation, be requested to adopt the proposed Amendments to the Las Vegas City Charter, a copy of which is attached hereto, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution be mailed to the assembly delegates for Clark County and to the Senator from Clark County, Nevada. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
