This, along with thousands of dollars worth of other top prizes, will be conferred upon some beautiful and talented Houston area girl in the Sent Houston Coliseum on July 14* Jerry Lewis flies here that day to emcee the big show. It warn the noted jomedian himself who wired Wesley Hooper, president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, sponsor of the pageant, of the movie offer. This was the surprise gift that he had promised Miss Houston earlier. "This is the ultitaate in prizes,* declared Mr. Hooper. "We naturally were very happy when Mr. Lewis became personally interested in our Miss Houston Pageant ?· and we were flattered when he told us that he would have a surprise gift fof the winner. But this opportunity to appear with him in his next picture is more than the mind can imagaine. "The Jaycees are especially proud because Mr, Lewis has taken a personal interest in Miss Houston. Imagine, our winner already has a part in a movie*" Jerry Lewis* offer thus takes its i>lace at the top of a list of great' prizes which include a week-long vacation trip at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas, a $1000 scholarship, $500 wardrobe, $300 diamond wrist watch, $250 portable sewing machine, $150 portable television set, $150 portable typewriter, white fox stole, large studio portrait, $100 worth of insurance stock, Saturday, June 22, is the deadline for all entries.
