I can deal with this separately. I believe we want to end up mastering to Akai DR16 (digital hard disk) but will- confirm Anyway, we can master to DA88 and have a studio dump to DR16 when finished, Will talk to you soon. We need to get the sessions booked now - Jerry is going to Guam in late September. Can we do the sessions end of August??? Pis coord with Jerry on final draft sessions between you and him ASAP and keep me in the communication loop Thanks MB PS -- Chuck - p!s fax to JRJ for his reference ?╟÷-Original Message From: Lou Fagenson [mai!to:hopnpop<?║)earthlink, net] Sent; Tuesday, August 07, 2001 9:42 PM ;> To: Mark Baldyga Subject: Sandcastle Show Mi Mark, j met with Jerry again today to go over the music for the finale. Between the songs and the extra transitions for the show it is about six to eight minutes of music, I wolud like to break down the budget for the arrangements separately from the cost of the studio and singers, for the arranging, producing the session and meetings, etc. I would like $1,200. per minute. A reasonable price for all the transcribing I need to do (I've actually already done "Perfect World " and Jerry thought it sounded great, it does.). The studio and singers will be a separate matter, I will give you a bill with a copy of all recipts for the studio and singers, I will not do any mark-ups on their cost like other composers do. Al! I ask is that you send me a reasonable amount of money up front for them. As for the studio, we will only need a vocal studio sinse all other parts are done in my studio; This should save a lot of money - you wonl be paying for unnessasary equipment that looks impressive but won't be. used, the time to mike an instrument, equipment set-up and the other things that tend to bog a session down. As forthe singers, Jerry said that you used Randy Crenshaw for some of the show. This guy can sing anything. I used him albhg with some female vocalists on 'Beverly Hills Cop 3" for Paramount ( whenever a sequel of a sequel is made I seem to get the arranging and producing job)* Randy and two female vocalists doubling parts will fit the bill, They are union singers, but they will save money by getting it right in the first few takes. I can call around and get the best price for a1 vocal studio. I will do everything to get you the most bang for the buck. Jerry had mentioned to me that you want to re-arrange the show order, I don't actually do editing. If Don Grady has the tapes, I'll bet he could hook you up with an editor or two. It doesn't sound too complicated. I'll also need to know exactly what equipment and format to send the master on. i am, going to record to a Tascam DA-88. This is the standard medium of studios and after it is recorded, it can be. put onto whatever medium you need. Hope this all sounds good to you. Ill be on vacation Friday through Sunday so e-mail or call me Monday, I would like to get on it as soon as possible! All the best, Lou
