Section A CONGA AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION SCRIPT Does anyone remember the name of the dance we were just dpint? No? Of course you wouldn't - you're all too young only your parents! and myself would remember. It is the conga. Now for those of you who {have never experienced this phenomenon - It's kind-of-a Latin follow the leader - - basically it's step step step kick, step step step kick, of course it's not very impressive with only one person - I wonder if I could get 4 or 5 gentlemen up here to help me - are there any volunteers? - No - Well it's recruiting time. (A bbe goes into audience - Rick & Jose put Poles down) let's see - you look like you could do a mean conga. How about (as they start up Rick . & Jose lead them up) you - etc. Just stand in a straight line and face this way - can you all s ee - now you s tart on the right foot and do 1 2 3 kick let's try it - 1 2 - hold it - no - you see it's the right foot - that's the one on the band side - and then left foot is on the audience side -. It helps if we hold on to each other - (going to the last two guys in line) excuse me sir - what's your name? And yours ? George this is Harry/- Harry you don't mind if George holds you - your - ah - waiste - do you? Just put your hands there George - that's right - Look a match made in heaven. Rick would you join us (as Abbe is walking to head of line Rick grabs last man's waiste a little to low. around). Is everything alright? - There's a down accent). (Abbe turns Good (to man at the head of line) What's your name - Hi Sam - I'm Abbe (Shaking his hand). Sam do you mind putting your hands on my waiste - (Down accent - Abbe moves hands) your wife isn't here is she - (or oh your not married - that figures). I think we could use a little help from the audience - I'm going to divide the room into two halves - this side says 12 3 okay - let's try it 1 2 3 - well on a scale of 1 to 10 - you are definitely a minus 1 - once more - Side #2 let's show them where it's at - you say "kick" ready - Kick - not bad once more "kick". Now all together 12 3 kick 12 3 kick. Okay fellows you've got this fabulous orchestra on your right foot side and the Pittsburgh choral club on the left - how can we go wrong hands in position - Sing out Chorale Club (in rhythm) (Cue band) Here we go - 1 2 3 kick (Abbe takes group around the stage in a circle - at end she turns and applauds them ) Not bad! Section C I think this group needs a little glamor - I wonder1 if we could get a few women up here to do the conga with these hands ome men (Jose & Rick go into audience and help women up) How beautiful you all look (Abbe puts women inbetween men) You stand here - and you here - (Coming to last two men she says to last women) Could you tell me your name Harry & George tehis is Helen - you don't
