Company has been .occupying space in fr o n t o f one of the wharves of th is company K ith an o i l barge, said a question has arisen ms to the proper dockage charge to be made fo r such b arge. Under the reso lu tio n s and ordinances o f the C ity governing dockage charges fo r the years 1915 and 19X4, the dockage to be charged again st th is barge, under the ra tes prescrib ed by such reso lu tio n s and ordinances, based upon the cap acity o f such barge, is $ 5 .0 0 'per day, and, as you know, the ordinances in question provide a p en a lty fo r any g rea ter or lo s s or d iffe r e n t amount c o lle c te d than these proscrib ed by t Y& ordinances, This company has considered i t s e l f compelled to make a charge a t the. rate o f $5,00 per day, although i t f e e ls th at in view o f the circumstances th is is more than should be exacted, and arc desirous o f adju stin g the matter with the standard O il QOmptny on a more eq u ita b le b a s is . We understand that your body has ru led that o i l barged do not come w ithin the p ro visio n s o f the ordinances in question, because they are r o t r e g is te re d v e s s e ls , and th at owners o f shsxves may make such charges as they may deem reasonable fo r the use o f the docks by such barges.
