1-g million gallon reservoir at the Las Vegas take-off at an elevation of 1784, a static head of 384 feet, and will provide about 44 mgd with five pumps operating. The new booster station at the Las Vegas take-off will have a capacity of 30 mgd with five pumps operating. From here a 36-inch line will have gravity flow to the final boosting station at elevation 1750, from which the water will be boosted through a 30-inch line to Las Vegas. 2. The Las Vegas Land and Water Company properties to be acquired consist of a domestic water system, a well field containing 11 wells, two ground level concrete reservoirs with a total of 3.7 million gallons storage capacity, some 70 miles of water mains, and more than 500 acres of water bearing land and rights of way. 3. Improvements and extensions to the Las Vegas system include a 30 million gallon storage reservoir which will serve gravity water to most of the high ground in the western part of the city, a 500,000 gallon elevated tank to serve recently annexed areas to the western part of the city, several new mains ranging in size from 18 inches to 39 inches, and a system of 8-inch, 12-inch and 14-inch loops within the existing system to strengthen the distribution and to provide improved fire protection. The costs of the project are estimated by James M. Montgomery as follows: Estimated Cost of Proposed Improvements 30-million gallon reservoir in West Las Vegas $ 710,000. lj-million gallon reservoir at Manganese Ores Control building at Manganese Ores Booster pumping station on U.S. Highway 95 Pipeline from Manganese Ores to 30-million gallon reservoir Pipeline from Fremont Street to 30-million gallon reservoir 85,000— 53,500-"" 197,000 % 1,661,500v via Charleston Boulevard Miscellaneous improvements to production facilities New water wells Improvements to increase capacity of 40-inch pipeline from Lake Mead to Henderson Miscellaneous additional transmission pipelines 620,000- 555,000 10
