NYC ZTBSFELD LIVES AGAIN Producer Jack Enftatter Relives Ziegfeld Follies for 60 Minutes in 1954 Las Vegas Version. the name "Ziegfeld Follies" hasn't flashed across a marquee for about 20 years ?╟÷-- not since the last night in February, 1934 when Lee Shubert presented the famous shows at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York. But the name didn't die. Nor the memory. People well versed in showbusiness kept hoping lb r the day when some enterprizing producer would come up with the show again, perhaps with a new twist, perhaps with a modern version of the famous old dancing shows. And up until late in 1953, Lee Shubert, who controlled the rights to the famous shows, claimed he hadn't met anyproducer who deserved the chance to produce the shows. The same day that Lee died last year, he met and signed a deal with a young, bold producer named Jack Entratter who had startled New York with a tremendous financial success at the Copacabana 01ub when other nitespots were folding right and left.
