EPIC RECORDS STATUS REPORT re: Convention arrangements as of Tuesday, July 12 In conversation with John Mahan, he finally seems satisfied that things are progressing. I explained that the charity aspect of the show was not feasible because of taxation problems. He said he was disappointed, but could understand. On the subject of the marquee, he said he was pleased that a sign would be displayed prominently in front of the hotel, but felt that Len Levy would prefer a line on the marquee. Levy will be here Friday along with Mahan and they may repeat the marquee request. Mahan has been informed that a sign would be on the Paradise Road (Donrey) sign. A1 Wunch of the sales department has been informed of this request as you suggested, and Wunch is taking care of it and will also take care of any charges to be levied on Epic. As far as a Junior Chamber of Commerce welcome (they shoot blanks and where cowboy outfits etc.), which was something Mahan had asked for, it might be difficult to arrange because the delegates will not be coming in en masse as originally planned. Because of the air strike it will be a matter of trickling into town in singles and pairs. Still, Mahan will be here early enough to coordinate this himself. The first release is attached and all should be well from here on.
