Medical Society, has Dr. Lafe Ludwig, Prominent Member of the House of Delegates of .AJM, has helped us considerably in our solicitation efforts. He wrote the recent letter to the Editor of the Review-JournaI regarding the editorial which had been written after Las Vegas did not win the vote of the House of Delegates as the site for the 1963 Mid-Winter Interufa Session of AKA. Dr. Ludwig will be visiting Las Vegas, arriving here on August 25, and staying at the Tropicana Hotel. Any courtesies extended to Dr. Ludwig will be greatly appreciated. AMERICAN ACADEMY OF OPTHALKOLOGY AND OTOLARYNGOLOGY The Board of Secretaries of this Association has elected to convene in Las Vegas November 4 thru 9, 1962. This must be approved by their Board of Directors. This decision will be made during their Meeting in Chicago on October 12. Permission has been asked to have a representative of the Convention Bureau to personally present a formal invitation to the Board. Mo answer has been received as yet. AMERICAN ACADEMY OF GENERAL PRACTICE Mr. Mac Canal, Executive Secretary, and members of his staff will be in Las Vegas, arriving on Sunday, August 13, staying at the Flamingo Hotel. They will be here to review convention plans for ApriI of next year. To date they do not have any room commitments which will be one of the details they will cover during their stay here. It was suggested that a meeting be called of the hotel people and Mac Cabal and staff during their stay here. AMERICAN VETERINARY MEDICAL ASSOCIATION This convent ion is under solicitation and will be covered by John Goodwill in Detroit on August I7~20, 1961. A memo has been sent to the hotels urging that a delegation be on hand during this Meeting in Detroit. They have a Board of 60 to 70 people. The Convention Bureau is planning on having a hospitality room for at least one n i ght.
