To award the bid for an emergency loan. -______E. W. Cragin_____________ mayor NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO: E. W. CRAGIN, Mayor and to C. R. CLARK, R. T. BASKIN, R. T. MOORE, REED WHIPPLE, Commissioners and J. M. MURPHY, City Manager of the city of Las Vegas, Nevada. You and each of you will please take notice that pursuant to a call this day issued by mayor Cragin, a Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada will be held in the office of the Mayor, at the War Memorial building on Monday, October 27, 1947 at the hour of 4:00 P.M. to act upon the following business: 1. Moore s/ Bob Baskin__________ s/ Reed Whipple________ Meeting called to order by His Honor, Mayor Cragin, October 27, 1947 at the hour of 4: p.m. with the following members present: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, and Whipple. City Manager J. M. Murphy. City Clerk Helen Scott Reed. Absent: Commissioner Clark. EMERGENCY LOAN Verbal invitations to bid on an emergency loan having heretofore BIDS been made, and the city having been informed by the Bank of Nevada that they did not wish to submit a bid only one bid was received from the 1st National Bank of Nevada, Las Vegas Branch, which was for a two and one-half year period at 3% interest per annum. Thereafter, Commissioner Moore moved that the bid of the 1st National Bank of Nevada, Las Vegas Branch be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. Commissioner Baskin moved that the mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the note in the sum of $80,000.00 at 3% interest per annum for a two and one-half year period. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. Commissioner Moore moved that the Minutes of October 27, 1947 being a Special Meeting called at 10:00 a.m. be approved.
