But soaring in front of the entire show is a bird who is am thing bur foul ?╟÷ Dave Swan, a Welsh comic making his first professional appearance in the United States. It is almost rude to single out one performer in a show which features several which yan& exceptionally talented, but Swan is almost too good a discovery to be true. He' pops.up constantly during the production, introducing the;rooming scenes by impersonating Hollywood hbb| JarheB?╟ iV|as0n, Humphrey and John Wayne. But the capper to his actlahd perhaps the whole show, is his impersonation of a baby goldfish calling to his mother. As Bod Serling used to sa>; on the s?╟ Twilight Zone, ?╟╓ it!spm experience: from another dimension, one you can?╟╓t believe even after you?╟╓ve J^een it. This Swan Ksn?╟╓t taking any dives here. ?╟╓ But other performers in this well-produced live show V^about filips deserve their own Academy Awards. Emelina,; the lead dancer, is a spectacular performer who has already gained a ?√ß reputation for coming close to perfection in town; she had been' the lead dancer in <4Bare Touch of Vegas?╟Ñ until this. year. She is as much a pure joy to watch now as before. Dale Stotts* the male singer and dancer in the show, does an athletic job on the choreography and has a -strong .voice to help carry out the many Hollywood themes expressed musically in the production. Sandy Kastel, the featured female voice on the program, has a yypice that Captures a little vfirl, cutsey feeling until she does a torchy ?╟úThe Man Who pot Away*?╟Ñ when she proves she?╟╓s a lot more than cute. And the four female dancers can step up and claim their awards, too. They are all superior performers who riot only! make energetic, complex numbers look easy, but also who do excellent comedy pantomime bits that depend heavily on good timing and talent. Candi Arena, Terry Dent, Sheri Calario and Linda Stuart are the key to giving the show its polished, thoroughly professional finish. Winchester Cathedral not only is an impressive musical group that does a first-rate job ihrougfiout the show, but contributes a solo performer for both music and comedy, its leader, Peter Cooper, he plays an affected movie director to help out in a couple of numbers, plays trumpet and soprano sax, does a neat pantomime of a ?╟úloving?╟Ñ husband,in a typical Italian movie scone wand even throws in Bert Lahr?╟╓s cowardly lion. He is typical of the quality entertainers that populate the program. ?╟≤ The production is full of clever concepts, ranging from its ?╟úPink Panther?╟Ñ ?╟÷ credits opening to the ?╟úRio?╟Ñ then-and^now scene to the salute to movie monsters who break into a dance to 44Macho Man?╟Ñ (the catchiest dance scene in the show) to the Travolta finale. The vivid imagination of the creators and the Hur-culeon efforts of the performers have put this show business show over the rainbow. D.V. Hi
