Biographical / Historical Note
UNLVino is an annual fundraising event for the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality at UNLV. The event started in 1974 when Larry Ruvo, the head of Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, contacted Jerry Vallen, dean of the hospitality college, about starting a wine tasting. The proceeds from the event would go towards the college's scholarship fund. UNLVino eventually evolved into a wine and food event and a UNLVino management class was added to the curriculum specifically for teaching student volunteers about event planning and management.

These records are unprocessed. In 2019, Tammi Kim accessioned the collection and created the finding aid in ArchivesSpace. In 2021, Tammi Kim accessioned the 2021 addition, transferred files off of optical discs, and updated the finding aid.
