Norma Friedman

Norma Friedman (1935 -  ) was born to Rose and Jacob Adler and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She married Leon Friedman in 1957 and had two children, Brad and Jodi.

In 1973, Norma’s husband became a partner with his brother-in-law Oscar Alterwitz to purchase Walker Furniture in Las Vegas. This would require a cross country move from Gary, Indiana. Eager for the opportunity, Norma visited Las Vegas. Before even looking for a house, she wanted to be sure that there was a good Jewish community; her son was to soon be a bar mitzvah.

She worked outside the home managing a jewelry store, but her greatest joy was raising her children, traveling with Leon, and volunteering in the community.

In April 2017, Norma was honored in 2017 by Jewish Family Service Agency.
