Survivors' Chronicle, April 1998

The Holocaust Survivors Group of Southern Nevada was founded in 1995 by Henry and Anita Schuster, along with Harry and Helen Goldman, Edythe Katz-Yarchever, and the Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada. The organization publishes the Survivors Chronicle, holds regular meetings and social events for Holocaust survivors, and organizes remembrance events. It coordinates speakers for schools, civic organizations, and religious groups. In addition to its social and educational functions, the Group is a practical resource and support group for Holocaust survivors in the Las Vegas area. It provides legal assistance for restitution applications and financial aid to survivors in need, as well as helping with tasks such as arranging a Jewish funeral or transportation to visit a spouse in the hospital. Henry and Anita Schuster were the original co-chairs of the Group, along with Harry and Helen Goldman. The Goldmans passed away in 1996 and the Schusters continued to lead the organization until 2007, when Raymonde Fiol became president.Esther Toporek Finder then became president in 2016

Because we are no longer actively fundraising for the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project, we are directing all related donations to our Oral History Research Center for the pursuit of other meaningful oral history projects.
