R-11 Las Vegas - March 4, 1940. A V K H H L - Los Angeles: State Highway Dept advertising bids for improvements 12 miles highway south of Jean, bids closing March 14th. Will require about five million gallons water at rate 5 tank cars per day to Jean, Borax and Roach as job progresses. May we quote them price 15 cents per thousand gallons at Las Vegas plus freight two and three-fourths cents to Jean, three and one-fourth to Borax and Roach or approximately $24.60 per carload 10,000 gals.
