A few days ago I sent the companye note to A.S.Mogonigle in the sum o f Three Hundred co lla rs in place of Five Hundred as authorised, with instructions to forward his check to you so that you could endorse and deposit in Las Tegas Bank to the companys account, thereby enableing you to keep your accpunt/ o f the sum in the hank. Was on the property a couple o f days ago with the two Geologist* o f the Congressional Boulder Canyon Dam Investigating Committe e, They^ were some suprised by the time I got them over i t , I could see immediatley that the Vegas fellow s with them or some one else had led them to supposed i t did not amount to much, and before the trip was o v e r ,it was also evident that they are more o f a ra tifica tio n committee than an investigation committee. But I made them g e tiit just about as it was. They intended to gc to the lower s a lt, but by tye time they had gotten over the upper one,they said they believed they could form an ©pinion as to the lcwer withou seeing it ? Hepburn is now in S eattle,I expect to hear from him soon, It seems he and H itter have fa lle n out, He said only a word or two, but same was s u fficie n t to d isclose that he fe lt R itter had been giving him d ir t, possibley it may account for some o f the delay, I fancy h is trip into the Northwest is for the purpose o f personalley investigating the salt situ ation th ere,I mean as to the general market conditions out side o f the usre his own people have for I t . that,however, is ©ntyy speculation on my part.
