Gentlemen. advised that on the night of the 8th,inst, I S nircctoS of the Salt Company,by proper resolution authSised and directed the Company* Secretary to deliver in the postoffice at St.Thomas duly adressed to yourselves,and duly registereu, a letter adviseing you that you are delinquent in meeting the payment falling due on the first of February under the terms of your lease on the salt property of said company, and demanding that you make said payment forthwith. For vour further information will say,no authorisation was given to cancell your lease if you failed to make such payment within the five days after notice,provided for in the lease, The directors intention is to hold pritty closley to the provisions of the lease bv way of keeping its business in proper form, and should you fail to meet such payment within the five days forfiture of *eas® could be called at any time by proper action of the directors. But in order that you may not be under apprehension that such forfiture will be called unexpetedly, I now say the company stands ready to enter into a proper extension agreement guranteemg you such time for making said payment as may be agreed upon between its directors and yourselves,providing such agreement is had teithm the comming ten days or thereabouts. t expect to go to Las Vegas tommorrow, and am not sure,but expect to leave there for your city on Saturday eavening ,uriLess in the mean time I receive word from you that you are starting for St.Thomasj Should you be starting before that date,Saturday eavnmg, please wire Miss Laura to that effect,and she will know where to let in touch with me. If you come on prior to Saturday eavning the extension agreement can be attended to hear, if not,and go to i*os Angeles,as I expect,the majority of the directors will be there and we can then attend to the matter.
