A former prisoner in Hitler's concentration camps, her and her brother's story were so dramatic that they kept millions of viewers glued to their television sets when they program was originally seen over a national network. The program was considered by viewers and critics alike one of the most interesting ever presented on TV. The original version of this emotion-packed TV program will be shown at the meeting, and Mrs. Kohner will relate some of the dramatic experiences which led to her appearance on the show. The Files on Women's Issues series (1969-2003) comprises the largest segment of the Florence McClure collection and contains newspaper and magazine clippings pertaining to women's issues in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as national and international issues. The materials deal with a wide variety of topics pertaining to health, work, and education as well as topics such as physical and sexual abuse of women. There are also newspaper clippings about corrections and incarceration issues from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Las Vegas Sun; others are from national papers including the New York Times.
