Abstract

Oral history interview with Dr. Anthony Saville conducted by Dr. Robert Ackerman and Dr. Patrick Carlton on June 17, 2002 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Dr. Saville reflects upon his career in school administration. He describes the process by which he became an administrator, challenges that he faced before he became a United States citizen, and his eventual involvement with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He discusses his experience working as the Dean of Education with UNLV and his development of the Education program.

Nevada. Governor’s Advisory Council on Education Relating to the Holocaust

The Governor’s Advisory Council on Education Relating to the Holocaust was established by the Nevada Legislature in 1989 under Nevada Revised Statute 233G. The duties of the Council are to develop educational programs for children and adults on issues related to the Holocaust, to create reports, and to advise public and private bodies throughout Nevada on Holocaust education. It is also responsible for its own fundraising, although some money is allocated by the legislature. The Council consists of eleven members appointed by the governor.

Stein discusses teaching at the Hebrew Academy and Adelson Educational Campus. She also discusses Jewish art and various forms and mediums of art. She then talks about her involvement with the local Polymer Clay Guild and their various projects.
