The University of Nevada, Las Vegas ROTC Records are comprised of administrative files and photographic prints from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) from its inception in 1980 to 1991. The collection includes photographs of cadet activities as well as Army ROTC recruitment materials.
The Tonopah, Nevada Mining Town Photograph Album (approximately 1908) consists of twenty-two photographs in a leather-bound album. The photographs depict businesses, townspeople, street scenes, and mining operations in Tonopah, Nevada and the surrounding areas of Goldfield, Nevada and Mina, Nevada. Also included are photographs of a fire on May 12, 1908 that destroyed a block of commercial buildings in Tonopah, which were taken by local photographer E. W. Smith., and views of the downtown area both before and after the fire.
Folder contains: law school questionnaire and responses, 1973; press release about a statewide advisory board charged with developing preliminary plans for a law school at UNLV, June 20, 1973; Minutes of the Joint Senate-Assembly Education Committee Meeting for a Law School, March 16, 1973; press releases about donations; notes; and newspaper clippings. The Jackie Brett Collection on Las Vegas, Nevada Entertainment (1977-1996) consists of writings by Jackie Brett and publications and clippings about Las Vegas, Nevada entertainment and tourism. Brett worked for the Nevada Commission on Tourism and promoted southern Nevada through her column "Brett's Vegas View." She wrote about production shows, concerts, special performances, and events as well as the overall development of Las Vegas tourist industry in the 1980s and 1990s.
