The view from the top of Fortification Hill overlooking Lake Mead. Created in the late 1930s when Hoover Dam was built atop of the Colorado River, Lake Mead is one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the United States at 112 miles long and 500 feet deep.

On February 14, 1979, Gregory M. Hall interviewed his coworker, LaMar Foremaster (born May 9th, 1907 in Alamo, Nevada) at his place of business, Anderson Dairy, in Las Vegas, Nevada. This interview covers the changes, growth, and development of Southern Nevada from 1907 to 1979. During the interview LaMar discusses the Old Ranch, Boulder Dam, Hoover Dam, Fremont Street and the Strip. He also talks about his religious ties to the Mormon Church and his political activities in Las Vegas.

Wade H. Taylor, a Regional Power Manager, standing beside the shaft of one of Davis Dam's five 45,000 kilowatt generating units located in the dam's turbine gallery. David Dam is located on the Colorado River, downstream from the Hoover Dam, on the border between Arizona and Nevada.
